I graduated from Salford University Directorate of Podiatry in 2003 and completed my post graduate certificate at Huddersfield University of Podiatry in 2014.

I have over 17 years NHS experience in general podiatry including nail surgery, at-risk patient management and high risk wound care.

I opened my private practice in 2020 to provide an expert professional and caring podiatry service. I’m passionate to meet the growing need for convenient foot care for my clients in the comfort and safety of their home environment. My client base is within York and the surrounding areas.

Treatment

Each client’s initial appointment will begin with a thorough podiatric assessment and development of a client specific treatment plan. All areas of treatment will be discussed with the client to develop a care plan tailored to meet their needs. An appointment regime for ongoing podiatric care will be discussed and implemented to meet the clients individual requirements.

General Podiatry Treatments include:

  • Podiatric foot care and advice
  • Nail reduction
  • Corn and callous reduction
  • Dry heel and fissure treatment
  • Verruca treatment
  • Conservative in-growing toenail treatment
  • Low risk wound assessment and management
  • Offloading devices
  • Simple insoles

Please feel free to contact Home Care Podiatry to discuss your podiatric treatment fully as this list is not exhaustive.

Diabetic Foot assessments

All clients will be reassessed as necessary throughout their course of treatment. Diabetic foot assessments are available annually. This includes doppler assessment, monofilament testing and correspondence of results to your GP (if requested).

Eco Friendly

During treatment and where possible eco biodegradable options are used to reduce single use plastic waste. At all times single use plastic items are kept to a minimum and non plastic packaging option used when possible. Reusable autoclavable instruments are central to our care. A secure computer based paperless system with email client correspondence is the mainstay of this service.

COVID-19

Under the guidance of the Royal College of Podiatry we will continue to wear appropriate PPE at every appointment. Despite several changes in the COVID-19 pandemic regulations, it is still an infection control and legal requirement that staff and clients wear a face mask. We ask that all patients follow this advice during your appointments. This will help to protect you and others and help ensure that we can continue to support you all without disruption.

Appointment length of time spent in each clients home must still be kept to a minimum for each appointment to comply with government guidelines and the royal college of podiatry guidelines. We endeavour to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus. All staff undertake regular lateral flow tests to reduce the risk of transmission.

If you develop any symptoms, or if you have been in contact with some one who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, then you must contact Home Care Podiatry prior to your appointment.
